In its third edition, held from June 26 to 30, 2024, the CAN Art Fair in Ibiza continues to consolidate itself as a project dedicated to the promotion of art on the Balearic island and to offer a platform to discover the latest trends in contemporary creation. This 2024, the fair has experienced significant growth, integrating a greater number of Balearic artistic proposals in its main space and expanding its OFF Program. This program included up to five simultaneous exhibitions of Balearic-based artists, distributed between Ibiza and Formentera, which actively contributes to the configuration of an authentic Art Week on the island, supported by institutions, galleries and cultural agents.

The new date, at the end of June, marks the beginning of summer in Ibiza overturned with the fair, positioning itself more and more as a tourist and cultural destination of relevance. CAN Art Ibiza thus consolidates its position as an essential date on the international art fair calendar.

During the five days of the fair, 36 galleries and more than 120 artists attracted nearly 5,000 visitors from all continents, with a notable increase in the presence of art world professionals. CAN Art Ibiza awarded several Acquisition and Residency Prizes. For the first time, Las Cicadas, in Ibiza, participated with a residency award granted to Giovanni Ozzola, from Galleria Continua, and Guillermo Mora, from Galería MPA / Moisés Pérez de Albéniz. In addition, for the third consecutive year, the Fundació Carmen & Lluís Bassat presented its acquisition award, granted to artist Michael Staniak, represented by La Bibi. In this edition, the Del Arco Collection made its debut with an acquisition prize awarded to Lotte Weiringa, represented by KersGaller and OD Hotels also participated with an acquisition prize awarded to Alain Biltereyst, represented by Xippas Gallery.

Inside the fair, several initiatives were developed that highlighted the value of design and photography, under the name of Special Projects. These projects stood out for increasing the visibility of new proposals that recently arrived in Ibiza, such as Maison Soleille and Agony and Ecstasy, as well as others with a longer trajectory, such as Galería También. In addition, the Postering Ibiza 1980-2020 exhibition presented a selection of vintage posters created by artists who lived on the island, evoking its artistic history.

The CAN Local initiative, which emerged from the fair, served as a platform to give voice to other artistic projects that, although not part of the fair, were being developed simultaneously on the island. These initiatives contributed to consolidating the artistic and cultural fabric of Art Week in Ibiza.
