Born in 1993 in Stirling, Scotland, Sophie Vallance Cantor is an emerging artist currently based in London. Her artistic journey began with a solid foundation in art and design, undertaking a Foundation in Art and Design at CCW Progression Centre. Eager to deepen her understanding and skills in painting, Sophie pursued higher education at Camberwell College of Arts from 2013 to 2015, specializing in painting. This period marked a significant phase of growth and exploration in her artistic practice.

In addition to her exhibitions, Sophie Vallance Cantor has garnered recognition through prestigious residencies and awards, further cementing her status as a promising artist.

In 2019, Sophie Vallance Cantor was named a finalist for the esteemed Hopper Prize, a testament to her talent and potential within the contemporary art sphere. That same year, she was selected for a residency at L21 Gallery in Palma de Mallorca, providing her with an invaluable opportunity to immerse herself in a new environment and further develop her artistic practice.

Prior to these achievements, Sophie Vallance Cantor was recognized as a finalist for the Young Contemporary Talent Prize, awarded by the renowned Ingram Collection in 2018. This recognition underscored her artistic excellence and contributed to her growing reputation within the art community.
