Christian Eisenberger at SAFA

24.06.2024 - 30-06.2024

Christian Eisenberger’s stylistically and quantitatively rich oeuvre resists precise categorization. His work has always oscillated between obsessive compulsion and absolute freedom.Eisenberger does not deprive his art of aesthetic pretensions, which is why it speaks directly to the viewer. At the same time, however, many of his works pose existential questions immanent to humanity alongside this aestheticization. Christian Eisenberger’s works often have a strong reference to nature, whereby nature, which must follow its own physical laws without choice, is juxtaposed with human existence as a corrective.

SAFA is a water irrigation system in Santa Agnès de Corona that has been out of use for over 70 years. 2024, SAFA is repurposed as a public exhibition space for site-specific art works and projects. The inaugural installation is by Austrian artist Christian Eisenberger.
