POSTERING IBIZA (1980 - 2020): THE VISUAL EVOLUTION OF THE WHITE ISLAND THROUGH ITS GRAPHIC IMAGINARY

From 1980 onwards, a small Mediterranean island became the world epicenter of musical hedonism. Temples like Ku, Amnesia, Pacha, Space, Playboy, Es Paradis or Glory's among many others hosted daily parties and the promotion through illustrated posters turned the streets of Ibiza into a permanent artistic exhibition. 

Yves Uro, Sola, Rom-Ero, Jesús de Miguel, Esteban Jiménez, de Margen, Oscar Ferrer, Bagaix, Carlos Genicio, Dodi Santerre, Nasel, Joan Alegret or Toni Riera among many other illustrators, artists and photographers left their mark in this artistic-musical history.

In this exhibition we give an account of the evolution, symbolism and idiosyncrasy of the island through the most outstanding works and the different compositional techniques of the promotional posters of the last four decades.
