Las Cicadas

Las Cicadas has given two Residency Awards for this 2024 Can Art Ibiza Art Fair to the artists Giovanni Ozzola con Galería Continua y a Guillermo Mora con Galería MPA Moisés Pérez de Albéniz. 

Their goal is to bring together international artists of diverse backgrounds and disciplines to interact with the natural environment, the local communities and the history of the island. The program provides an opportunity for artists from around the world to work in a striking and authentic space, sharing joie de vivre, sunshine and the meeting of minds – this is what Las Cicadas’ heritage is all about.

Las Cicadas Artist Residency is organized by Tavis Buschman, Nora Bullerjahn and Sarah Suco Torres who worked in several blue-chip contemporary art galleries in New York, Brussels, and Paris, and who recently joined Las Cicadas, as a new partner in Ibiza. “After five great years at Perrotin, launching this project feels like a dream come true, as I have always felt at home in this magical island”. 

The first edition, which took place from January 8 to March 10, 2024 and they had the honor to collaborate with the following 8 international artists: John Fou (France), Romain Sarrot (France), Nicolas Momein (France), Carrie Bencardino (Argentina), Miriam Dema (Spain), Caroline Monnet (Canada), Pangea (France) and Rafael Ulecia (Spain).  At the end of the residency, they organize an Open Studio with a dinner. In addition, they hold occasional events at Las Cicadas during the month of work.
