"L'illa -que brilla- perilla. (Ganivets ben esmolats). THIS IS IBIZA"
L'illa -que brilla- perilla is the first solo exhibition by Mallorcan artist Albert Pinya in Ibiza, which can be visited from the 21st of June until September at the Estudi Tur Costa.
This new exhibition by Pinya, which can also be translated as a kind of personal travel diary, deals with ideas that speak of the history of Ibiza from a very ancestral and contemporary perspective, reflecting on environmental awareness and the preservation of nature in a territory that is constantly under threat.
Albert Pinya (Palma 1985) is one of the most internationally renowned Mallorcan artists of his generation. Difficult to label. He has exhibited locally, nationally and internationally in museums and institutions such as: Museo Vostell-Malpartida (Cáceres, Spain. 2007), Auditorium Parco della Musica (Rome, Italy. 2012), Milan Triennale (Milan, Italy. 2017), MAC-Museo de Arte Contemporaneo de Lissone, (Italy. 2017). Matadero Madrid, (Spain 2019). MACE. Museo Arte Contemporáneo Eivissa, (Spain. 2020); Es Baluard Museo de Arte Contemporáneo. Palma, (Spain. 2022).
Also noteworthy are solo exhibitions at the galleries Exhibit (Santander, Spain. 2023), Baró (Palma, Spain. 2022), Alzueta (Barcelona, Spain. 2022), Martina Corbetta Arte Contemporanea (Giussano, Italy. 2021), Pelaires (Palma, Spain. 2018) and Alegría (Madrid, Spain. 2013).
His work has been shown at international fairs such as ARCO, UVNT, Artissima, Zona Maco and Kiaf, among others, and forms part of collections such as the Fundación María Cristina Masaveu Peterson (Madrid, Spain), Es Baluard Museo de Arte Contemporáneo (Mallorca, Spain), the Cittadella degli Archivi del Comune di Milano (Milan, Italy) and the MAC-Museo de Arte Contemporaneo (Lissone, Monza Brianza, Italy).
