Galerie
Kleindienst
Leipzig, Germany
Galerie KLEINDIENST was founded by Matthias Kleindienst in Leipzig, Germany. It is one of the pioneers that played a significant role in shaping the new developments in the German art scene, and, over the past 20 years, it has become an important locus for the German art landscape. Since 2005, its premises have been located on the Leipzig Spinnerei, a former cotton mill turned to an internationally known art hot spot.
The gallery’s exhibition program includes contemporary art in the genres of painting, photography and printed graphics, installations and New Media. The gallery presents the work of young artists who have not yet made a name for themselves, alongside artwork by well-known names such as Rosa Loy, Tilo Baumgärtel and Christoph Ruckhäberle. The gallery also takes an interest in students and graduates of the Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig, giving them a platform for presenting their artworks. Galerie KLEINDIENST is represented in a number of high-profile collections and significant art fairs, both inside Germany and worldwide.
