Moonassi born in Seoul, graduated from Hongik University with a major in Oriental Painting. He started his career as an artist in 2010 with the artist name ‘moonasi’. Other than his main medium, painting, he also experiments with various mediums from animation, found objects, and installation. Furthermore, he has collaborated with brands like Maison Kitsune, New York Times, Amore Pacific, Hermes among others as an international artist. His artist name ‘mooa’ (無我) comes from the Buddhist terminology as a will to avoid thoughts initiated by oneself. The artist uses simple Oriental ink as a medium, inscribing his in-depth introspection of the internal conflicts, emotions and thoughts amidst the relationship with others.
