Wastrom

Erika Wastrom is a painter who lives and works in Barnstable, MA. Her paintings are immediate and direct, moving nimbly between narrative and stylistic considerations that include collage-like, two-dimensional portraits and still lifes. Her work is a color-saturated world of texture, pattern, figures, and inspired objects—off-kilter scenes and tablescapes comprised of a rich variety of ordinary objects and heirloom quality artifacts. Wastrom received her MFA from Boston University in 2012, and recent solo exhibitions include Just Us Here, Gaa Gallery, Provincetown, MA; Erika Wastrom, Gaa Gallery, Provincetown, MA; In Light of Nothing, Gaa Gallery, Provincetown, MA; This Must be the Place, Gaa Gallery, Wellfleet, MA; and group exhibitions Figuratively Provincetown, LaMontagne Gallery, Boston, MA; Hold Run, Gaa Gallery Provincetown, MA; Against Forgetting, Gaa Gallery Provincetown, MA; Summertime, Gaa Gallery, Wellfleet, MA; New Talent, ArtSTRAND, Provincetown, MA; and Asterisk Projects, AAF, New York.
