30.05.-29.06.2025
Alba Suau and Adrià Mayordomo will present a joint exhibition at the Faro de Ses Coves Blanques as part of the OFF program of CAN Art Ibiza. An initiative that, since 2022, promotes the art of Balearic artists by holding exhibitions in venues on the islands, mainly between Formentera and Ibiza.
"Fons-Figura: Espais Liminars"
It is an exhibition proposal born from the crossing of two complementary points of view. Alba and Adrià share a concern for the abstract, but each one approaches it from a different place. While Alba immerses herself in the atmospheric density of the background and the landscape, Adrià approaches the figure from a more symbolic, almost spectral place.
What unites them is their interest in those intermediate, ambiguous territories, where what is and what has not yet been touch each other. In his works, transitional spaces - preliminary - unfold, inviting an open, sensorial reading, in which background and figure cease to be opposites and become parts of the same poetic tension.
Alba Suau, born in Pollença, Mallorca, in 1997, is a visual artist based in Brussels. Her artistic practice focuses on painting the memory of being within a landscape, exploring the memory and subjective experience of place. Alba begins her creative process with aimless walks, which allow her to connect with a meditative reality that she then transforms into her works.
She has presented her work in several solo and group exhibitions in spaces such as Alzueta Gallery in Madrid, Kaplan Projects and Casal Solleric in Palma, and Dorotheum in Brussels. She has also participated in artistic residencies such as the Fondation Moonens in Brussels and The Helene Wurlitzer Foundation in New Mexico. She is currently preparing his next solo exhibition at the Palau Casavells with Alzueta Gallery in Girona, as well as an artist residency at the Fondation CAB in Brussels.

Adrià Mayordomo Melis (2000, Manacor) graduated in Fine Arts. In 2023 he made his first solo exhibition at the Fran Reus Gallery in Palma entitled "Perder la cabeza" and in recent years has been able to participate in several group exhibitions both in Mallorca and Barcelona. He currently lives in Barcelona where he continues to develop his work in painting and sculpture around the human figure, although lately you can also find images related to the urban environment.
For the third consecutive year, the Balearic tourism company Paya Hotels reaffirms its strong commitment to Balearic artistic creation and to the strengthening and visibility of this sector through its support of the OFF CAN 2025 Program. This program not only promotes Balearic talent, but also seeks to connect Ibiza and Formentera through art.
